Let’s STOP the STAMP Monster Data Center!
  • GCEDC must meet ALL of our demands! GCEDC's Board has voted to set a supplemental public hearing + to extend the written comment period to April 15. This is a huge win! They met some of our demands - but not all. Email them: at the second hearing, the Board must be present and must answer q’s from the public. GCEDC must ensure both that final application documents, once submitted by STREAM, are provided to the public, and that the public then has the opportunity to comment, before the Board makes any decision on this application: financial, environmental, or otherwise. Submit written comments on the data center proposal before the April 15  deadline. Use our one click tool today, then share this tool with all of our family, friends, and neighbors. Use our pre-written comment, or add your own talking points. https://tinyurl.com/s8ezths7

  • The Town of Alabama Planning Board must take as much time as required to complete its review of the Data Center site plan, provide the complete site plan to residents well before the legally required public hearing, and fully consider residents’ questions and comments. Email them at [email protected], then join us on March 30 at 7pm at the next Planning Board Meeting. See our handout for suggested email language + talking points.

  • Sign our petition: No STAMP Monster Data Center!

  • Let’s STAMP Out Kathy Hochul’s Monster Data Center! Use our one click tool to email the Governor, or call at 518-474-8390. Contact Sen Chuck Schumer and Sen Kristin Gillibrand. Schumer’s aide: Chris Zeltman: (585) 263-5866. Direct link: https://tinyurl.com/yrr3zt5e

  • Go to the next GCEDC STAMP Committee + Board of Directors Mtgs. They don’t allow public comment but you can bring a sign. See below for details.

  • Go to the next Genesee County Legislature Meeting: Ask to be on the agenda as a petitioner. Ask questions and voice concerns. The Genesee County Legislature charters GCEDC and ultimately has a lot of control).

  • Call and email your local elected officials to express your opinions and ask questions: .  The monster data center threatens Genesee County, the whole GLOW Region, and all of NYS.

  • Call and email your NYS elected officials. Tell them why you don’t want a monster data center at STAMP and why it’s a bad deal for the GLOW Region. Demand a GLOW Region community Town Hall on the monster data center plan.  Tell them what you want Genesee County to invest $1.46 billion in taxpayer subsidies INSTEAD of a monster data center!
NYS Assembly Member Steve Hawley - 585-589-5780 and [email protected]
NYS State Senator George Borello - 585-507-8139 and [email protected]

  • Write a letter to the editor, opinion essay, or op-ed. We can help! Email, text, or call.

Other Talking Points and Questions:
  • EMS Services: I am very concerned about the lack of a comprehensive plan for EMS services at STAMP. The only study of STAMP’s impact on EMS in the area was done in 2012 and the recommendations were never implemented. What are you doing about hazards such as fires and explosions, and what is your plan for disaster response?
  • Water usage: Genesee County is under an ongoing drought watch. We do not have adequate water infrastructure to meet the needs of the residents and farmers. Why is STAMP being allowed to take water from Genesee County? How can you make sure that residential and agricultural uses are prioritized over industrial uses?
  • PILOT payments: I am very concerned about the impact of PILOT payments from tenants at STAMP and the negative impact on our local school district and municipal funding. Why is our County giving tax breaks to corporations that haven’t created jobs? What measures are you taking to ensure that the quality of our schools isn’t negatively affected by STAMP?
  • Public forums: STAMP is a mega industrial site with impacts for our whole region. Why haven’t there been opportunities for the public to ask questions and raise concerns? What are you doing to create those opportunities?
  • Loss of rural character: STAMP will destroy farmland currently in cultivation and increase industrialization of our rural area. What are you doing to protect our peaceful, country way of life from increased traffic, sprawl, noise, and pollution?
  • Loss of recreational opportunities: STAMP will scare away wildlife and could endanger the Oak Orchard Watershed, which is the backbone of the local sportfishing economy. What are you doing to protect our environment and economy from these threats?
